Improve Pointe Work Faster

Here are my tips for improving quickly on pointe. You need to take your time and do things with proper technique, but little tricks can make all of the difference. You should be doing things outside of ballet class, feet exercises, doing barre on pointe, and more. Hope this helps!

    Hi Katie – very timely talk for me. Can you also share some tips on taking care of your feet when doing pointe work? I see posts about soaking the feet in ice bucket.

    Thankyou so much for this video. I especially appreciate that you’re not talking “down” to the viewer as so many people do, assuming that they’re girls of 13 years of age. I’m 52 and went en pointe for the first time halfway through last year. I only do about 10 minutes of pointe each week (after class with one teacher. I also do another class each week but we don’t do pointe at all there). I mostly do just roling up and down but did get to do some bourrees at the barre before the end of the year. Your tips are all ones I will take to heart and try to keep in mind when I go back to class next month. Thanks!
